Going Natural Service
Transitioning from color-processed hair to your natural hair color is an individual journey. This is a highly customized service. At Uptown we begin with a free, in-depth consultation between you and an experienced colorist. During the consult, we study the color of your hair, its texture, your lifestyle, and the speed at which you want to transition. You can expect us to listen carefully to your needs and then recommend the number of appointments needed, and cost for each appointment to deliver you a smooth and healthy transition to your natural hair color. We also advise on your hair care routine and recommend products for both during and after your journey to natural hair color. Working with each client’s individual needs ensures a client experience that culminates in celebration and a toast to your fresh start.

Ouidad is a curly brand for every and all curl types. We accommodate wavy, loose, tight, and coily curls with our product that penetrates internally for beautiful external results.
The cutting techniques can remove bulk, add volume, and uniformity to your natural curl pattern.

A Semi-Permanent Solution
This is the full service for those wanting to eliminate frizz completely, increase the condition and shine, wear a straighter look and reduce blow drying/flat ironing every morning, while still maintaining the body in your hair.
This service lasts 3-4 months depending on your home care regimen and hair texture. Prices include a patented shampoo and conditioner that must be used for maintenance. Lifestyle needs and hair types determine specific service recommendations.
Price: $350+ Consultation required.

Amazing results and service!! I wish I doubled checked but I think my stylist was Vanessa. It has been years since my last professional haircut because I am a mom to two young kids, and let me say they made it worth coordinating childcare!!!! I had a random few free hours and they were able to fit me in same day!!! The salon was also super clean and clearly well organized. This might sound weird but I also appreciate my stylist catching the vibe that I was a mom who had an hour to herself and... she didn’t try to chat too much and let me relax, so I really appreciate her ability to read the room.read more
We moved to Rhode Island a few years ago. Previous to that, I had the same stylist for 20 years. She was wonderful and a hard act to follow.I tried many salons since we moved and have just had a difficult time finding someone who understood how to color and cut my hair. After spending a significant amount of money, I would stop on the way home and buy Color Oops from CVS and wash most of it out!I recently went to Jen at Uptown Salon in Westerly, Rhode Island. She is absolutely amazing, had... me come in for a free consultation beforehand so she knew how long I would need, and then just transformed my hair and I left feeling great! I had just about given up on ever liking my hair again, but I left with exactly what I was looking for, and my hair is healthier than it’s ever been.It was a long process and, because she had to undo the chemical damage done elsewhere, it was a little more than I would normally spend, but she said maintaining it will be less involved, and it’s worth it to just not have to think about my hair! She has such a solid understanding of the chemistry involved in color and on gentle treatments for hair, plus, she gave me a great cut.On top of everything, she is just a wonderful lady and I really enjoyed talking to her.I highly recommend Uptown Salon and especially, Jen.read more

Just had my first Ouidad curly blowout with Angie. It is called rake and shake if you want to book it. Angie is excellent!!l I just got bangs and she styled them perfectly. Highly recommend her and Uptown. Will be back next week!!
I have been going to this salon for 3 years now, and have seen a couple different staff. I called last minute and was able to book a partial foil/tone. I arrived and met V, who I had not seen before as a clientI immediately felt confident in her because I was able to explain my main concern, show her a photo of the concept, and ask her opinion and she nailed exactly what I wanted and did it in a way that looked good for MY skin tone.She was SO efficient; I have black, wavy, thick hair with... some greys. She had my hair foiled so fast and she did *not* sacrifice detail. My baby hairs were in their own cute little foils.The other skill she was seamless with, was being SO on top of every area of my hair that was lighter and darker. She was intently removing some foils and wiping off the mix to stop processing to achieve a lot of dimension. That kind of attention makes a big difference in overall consistency and balance.Lastly, she was so fun to chat with, she was incredibly gentle with my hair (when brushing) - you could tell she cares about client's comfort.Thanks, girl! My stylist, Emily, was fantastic. If I lived near here, I’d be her regular client.I have long, difficult to work with Asian hair. I saw Odemaries back in December and totally forgot to review— not only was she incredibly talented at what she did with my hair, but she tried her hardest to make it the healthiest transformation with my curls and was incredibly friendly and easy to socialize along the way. I went to Nancy at Uptown Salon & Spa for a color + cut correction after an unfortunate experience at another salon. From the separate consultation appointment through to the final result at the end of my actual hair appointment, Nancy was thoughtful, extremely knowledgeable, and a consummate professional. She listened to what I wanted, and gave me some great professional advice.I love my new color and cut, and look forward to going back to her in the future! She is truly a hidden gem!!

I was in the area for a few days and on a rainy day I gave them a call in the hopes they had an opening for a facial and/or massage. The staff member who took my call was so warm and friendly and said she had an opening for just what I needed....pampering! They welcomed me with joy and professionalism and immediately escorted me to the spa area of the facility. My facial with Petra was just glorious! She did a comprehensive analysis of my skin care concerns and needs and genuinely seemed... interested in what brought me to the spa - I told her more than anything I wanted to just relax and drift off. She delivered! An incredible facial customized to my needs, paraffin hand treatment during massage and glowing skin. I could not have been more pleased with the service. Then on to a 90 minute massage with Jody. I like a strong Swedish style, not quite deep tissue but close. OMG - she broke out all the big guns from her strength as a therapist to hot stones, hot towels, more hot stones, more hot towels...there were so many surprises over the 90 minutes that when I stumbled out of the treatment room a almost felt like I was tipsy. The facility is beautiful and immaculate, the treatment rooms were huge and the staff were consummate professionals. I will definitely book services again on my next visit to Westerly.
